Art dealers Mónica Manzutto and José Kuri opened Kurimanzutto almost 20 years ago to showcase both Mexican and international modern artists. The tiny modern art gallery on a residential street near Chapultepec Park features both Mexican and international modern artists. The exhibitions are shown in a large warehouse-style room. They change regularly and vary widely in theme, although most focus on a single artist. The gallery has artists such as Gabriel Orozco, Damián Ortega, Gabriel Kuri, Abraham Cruzvillegas and Dr. Lakra, which are internationally known (Orozoco, for example, was just shown at Art Basel in Hong Kong) and whose work is closely linked to the history and culture of Mexico.
