This fascinates not only tourists, but also biologists: How on earth, they wonder, do the long-distance flyers find their destination - a feat of navigation that is all the more astonishing because memory does not help the animals on their journey. For in the course of a year, at least three generations of the moths are born. In October meet. So in Mexico there is always the great-grandchildren of those who left there the previous year. The route to the Mexican Sierra Nevada must be encoded in the genome of the butterfly in a puzzling way. If you are a horse enthusiast, you are welcome to go by horse to the monarch butterfly reserve (can also be booked).

Cuexcomate was created in 1064 thanks to an eruption of the volcano Popocatépetl, which reactivated the circulation of hot springs in the region. For this reason, the legend says that he is the son of Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl. The last eruption of the geyser was in 1562, although it only released gases and boiling water, its structure is more like that of a volcano.
