Itinerary

DAY 1: Kilimanjaro Airport - Arusha
After your arrival, we will pick you up at the airport in Kilimanjaro and drive approximately 45 minutes to the Rivertrees Country Inn in Arusha, where you can recover and acclimatize from the flight. You are also welcome to book an activity at the lodge (Arusha city tour, canoe trip on Lake Duluti, coffee tour, etc.)

The Lodge Guest house with history The Lodge Before its days as a bed and breakfast accommodation, the beautiful Rivertrees Country Inn was a coffee plantation. The guest house's kitchen pampers its guests with fresh ingredients and old family recipes. The tranquility of nature and the friendliness of the warm staff create an atmosphere of well-being. The sparkling swimming pool and outdoor massage banda are ideal places to relax.

Arusha - Tarangire National Park

After breakfast you set off on your first game drive in Tarangire National Park. Here you will experience the highest concentration of wildlife outside of the Serengeti. The approximately 2,850 km² national park, which is crossed by the Tarangire River, impresses with a beautiful landscape that is characterized in particular by grassland and open tree savannahs as well as dense bushland and rocky peaks with sparse vegetation. The following day is also available for extensive game drives.

Ideal starting point for trips
The Camp
Lake Burunge Tented Camp is an ideal base for game drives in Tarangire, as you can reach the national park in just 20 minutes. In the main building there is a lounge and bar on a wooden viewing deck. This elevated platform is the perfect place to relax and watch the setting sun over Lake Burunge with a sundowner in the evening or simply enjoy the cozy warmth of the fire pit.

Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park
This morning you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park with a picnic, where you will learn a lot of interesting facts about the natural world and wildlife from your guide. In addition to the varied wildlife, the national park's diverse vegetation is also impressive. It is characterized by both the lush forest landscape and a large flood plain, which is very popular with herds of buffalo, wildebeest and zebra. The national park is named after the lake, on the shore of which you can also marvel at a geological peculiarity: the Maji Moto hot springs.

Small inn
The Lodge
Tloma's excellent location on an elevated valley side offers fantastic views of the lodge's coffee plantation and the famous Ngorongoro Crater, whose walls can be enjoyed from the rooms' private terraces. The small and exclusive lodge with 24 small colonial-style cottages was built on the foothills of the Ngorongoro Highlands and also offers 12 rooms with views of the garden and/or coffee plantation. The design of the entire lodge is intended to create an atmosphere reminiscent of the colonial plantations and farms described in many books and films.

The rooms
The chalet-like rooms with their own terrace or balcony are located on the ground floor. All rooms, which are equipped with double or single beds, offer guests comfort and enough space to have a good time. The rooms also have a bathroom with a shower. The family room consists of two rooms with a connecting door between the two rooms, so that families with children can also enjoy their vacation in Tanzania

Travelers can enjoy home-made cuisine, some of which includes products from their own garden, in the restaurant at the Tloma Lodge. In the summer months, you can of course also use the large terrace with a view of the foothills of the Ngorongo Crater, which is a great location for al fresco dining. After an exciting safari, relax by the heated pool with a view of the crater foothills. And the gardens with their many flowers and bushes always invite you to take a long walk or a guided hike. ​

Lake Manyara - Serengeti National Park
You will spend the next three days in the famous Serengeti National Park. Serengeti National Park is Africa's most famous wildlife area and lies between the Ngorongoro Highlands, Lake Victoria and Tanzania's northern border with Kenya. The park is located on a high plateau of over 2,000 m and enchants with its savannahs and huge herds of game.

Ideal location
The camp
The Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp is located in the center of the Serengeti National Park and offers the ideal starting point for wildlife viewing. The mobile tent camp is located in the central Serengeti and is therefore ideally located to visit the places on the large plains where most animals are found at any time of the year. In the middle of the camp is the communal tent with a cozy dining area. The campfire every evening invites you to end the day after an exciting day with up-close nature experiences. ​

The 10 tents are simple but authentic and equipped with everything you need. Each tent has a large bed, bush shower, toilet and solar lamps.

8th and 9th day

10 Day Big Five Tanzania Safari

Ngorongoro Crater
This morning, after breakfast, you will go on a final game drive in the Serengeti. Afterwards you will continue to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a picnic in your luggage. The next morning you will experience a 6-hour game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater. Today the crater is around 600 m deep and is home to around 20,000 large wild animals. Since the water sources in the crater never dry out, the majority of the animals stay there for their entire lives. You will see, among other things, hippos, lions, leopards and elephants, as well as some of the last black rhinos in Tanzania.

Small inn
The Lodge
Ngorongoro Farm House is a small guest house located near the Ngorongoro crater rim and about 4 km from Lodoare Gate with views of the Oldeani Volcano. The spacious main building, which has a thatched roof, contains a reception, bar, dining room, library and lounge with an open fireplace around which guests can meet in the evening for stimulating conversations. Guests have access to a swimming pool and two restaurants.

Colonial style
The rooms
The rooms are spread across 50 large and comfortable cottages, decorated in a colonial style. All rooms are very spacious and have a private bathroom and private terrace.

The 20 hectare farm is still in use today. Tour the farm with an experienced guide and learn everything about life and work on the farm. Discover the vegetable garden, the farm animals and learn interesting facts about coffee cultivation on a guided tour of the coffee plantation. Afterwards you can take part in the coffee roasting. ​

After unforgettable and eventful days, it's unfortunately time to say goodbye again today. You can enjoy the morning with a leisurely breakfast before you go to the airport and start your journey home or onward to Zanzibar.
