Day 9
DRIVE TO LAKE MBURU NATIONAL PARK
Day 9 DRIVE TO LAKE MBURU NATIONAL PARK
As you enter Lake Mburo National Park you can observe impalas and zebras. The drive to the accommodation is combined with a wonderful game drive. The park forms a mosaic habitat with rocks, dry slopes, open and wooded savannas, hills and swamps. Thanks to the diverse habitats, 313 bird species are represented in the park: including the flame-headed barbet, the yellow warbler, the African rush rail and many, many more.

Rwakobo Rock Lodge
Eco-friendly lodge overlooking a waterhole
Fantastic view
The Lodge
The eco-friendly, family-run Rwakobo Rock Lodge is located in a picturesque setting on the edge of Lake Mburo National Park. From the main restaurant you have a fantastic view of a spectacular rock face that borders the park and a nearby waterhole, which attracts many animals every day. The restaurant serves delicious home-made food, a combination of Ugandan and Western cuisine. The lodge tries to purchase as many ingredients as possible from local traders in order to support its neighbors and also to have as little impact on the environment as possible by traveling long distances to import food.
Spacious Cottages
The rooms
It accommodates its guests in eight spacious and comfortably furnished cottages, which are spread out on a mountain and thus ensure a high level of privacy and magnificent views of African sunsets thanks to their location. All rooms blend perfectly into the landscape and feature solar-powered electricity, flush toilets and solar-heated showers. You can find the beauty of the surrounding nature in the design of the rooms. Furthermore, they offer true comfort and luxury without compromising nature.
